Jam4Joy
Jam4Joy is an Oakland-based nonprofit operating at the intersection of movement, community, and social justice. Founded by instructors Angie and Judy, the organization has offered free weekly classes since the pandemic, using donations to support local and global causes. At its core, Jam4Joy is about creating accessible spaces for connection through movement while giving back to the community. As the organization continues to grow, the website required a refresh to better reflect its energy, expand its reach, and streamline how the team engages with its audience. The goal was to create a modern, welcoming digital experience that resonates with a primary audience of adults ages 40–60, while also appealing to a younger, more diverse demographic of potential volunteers, instructors, and mentees. The redesigned site emphasizes movement, connection, and community through a vibrant and cohesive visual system. Lifestyle imagery was intentionally prioritized to highlight real participants and shared experiences, shifting the focus from instructors to the collective energy of the community. Updated typography and color treatments bring a refreshed, contemporary feel while maintaining warmth and accessibility. Functionality played a key role in the redesign. The platform was consolidated to reduce operational complexity. The result is a more unified and scalable digital presence that not only reflects Jam4Joy’s mission but also supports its continued impact through stronger engagement, simplified systems, and an elevated brand experience.
